New Products - Strauss Icecream

Following are examples of new products developed by Strauss Icecraem. These products were invented during New Product Development (NPD) workshops by ZOOZ, and are only a fraction of an idea bank (with hundreds of ideas) that was developed at these Systematic Innovation NPD workshops during 2004 and 2005.
 

 

Thinking Tool: Adjustment to the Environment
Product: Danone Yogurt Icream cartons: the first to the world cooperation between an icecream manufacturer and Danone (the number 1 Fresh Dairy Product brand in the world). In keeping with this co-branding concept, other ideas were developed and applied for ice cream cartons, including  espresso ice cream in cooperation with Lavazza.

: Adjustment to the Environment
Product : "Cow Popsicle": children's icecream, chocolate and vanilla flavored, with cow spots texture, combining the famous "Cow" brand (a very popular brand of chocolate in Israel, owned by Strauss-Elite group). The product is also offered in a package of 5 popsicles.  


 

 

 

 

Thinking Tool : Division
Product : Liklakim - a package of 4 mini vanilla popsicles for children, that also includes, in seperate dip containers, a chocolate sauce and colored sugar powders. This way a child can alter the taste and look of the whilte popsicle, and to turn eating into a game. 
 

 

 

Thinking Tool : Unification
Product : Icecream Car - family-size icecream carton with chocolate and vanilla flavours, packaged in an icecream car replica (made of plastic). When the icecream is finished, the container remains as a cool toy for the children. 
 

 

Thinking Tool: Adjustment to the Environment
Product: Bratz Popsicles - toffee vanilla flavored children's ice cream with the Bratz lips imprint, immediately associated with the Bratz doll brand. Strauss received the franchise from Bratz, a leading toy manufacturer. The ice cream comes in three different packaging designs, each representing a different popular doll. The product is also offered in a package that includes a free gift of Bratz stickers.

Product : Yotbeta Popsicles - three falvors of popsicles (chocolate, vanilla, banana), coated with chocolate, and branded under the milk-drinks brand "Yotbeta" (favoured by Israeli children). The product is also offered in a package of 8 popsicles + 2 for free.

: Adding a Dimension 
Product: BISIM (bites)- vanilla iceceam cubes, coated with Magnum chocolate and roasted cereals. The unever coating prevents adherance of one cube to another. The product is sold in a rounded carton as an icecream snack, suitable for hosting and eating with friends and family. It is an upgrade of a quite old product named GLIDONIT.
